Log an expense in one line. Get reports that explain it.

Most expense trackers hand you a form. Ledgerly hands you one box. Type coffee 4.50 food, press Enter, done — and it shows you exactly what it understood before it saves anything.

Expenses, income, debts, budgets and recurring transactions. Syncs across your devices.

One line, one keystroke

It reads what you wrote — and shows its work

Ledgerly pulls the amount, category, date and payment method out of plain text. The preview under the box is not decoration: the parser makes judgement calls, and seeing its reading before you commit is what makes those calls safe to make automatically.

What you get

A full ledger, not just a tally

Everything runs from the toolbar popup or a full-page dashboard. Nothing is behind a paywall.

Expenses & income

Seventeen sensible categories to start with, then add your own with hand-picked colours and icons.

Budgets with alerts

Cap everything or one category, weekly, monthly or yearly. One notification when you cross your warning threshold, one more if you go over. No nagging in between.

Debts both ways

Loans and IOUs in either direction. Repayments show up in normal cashflow reports, because money leaving your account is money leaving your account. Debts settle themselves at zero.

Recurring transactions

Set rent or salary once. If your browser was closed for three weeks, Ledgerly creates every occurrence you missed — not just the most recent one.

Multi-currency

Spend in any currency, report in yours. Each entry stores the rate from the day you made it, so last year's totals never quietly change when today's rates move.

Reports that answer things

Spend by category, income vs expense, twelve-month trends, savings rate, top spending, budget adherence, debt payoff. Every chart has a table view and exports to CSV or JSON.

Works with no connection

Log an expense on a plane or in a basement. Entries save to your device instantly and upload themselves when you reconnect — queued in order, retried until they land, and never duplicated if a request half-succeeds. Nothing is lost waiting for a network.

Built for the keyboard

You should be able to log a coffee without reaching for the mouse.

Your data

It's your ledger. We treat it that way.

Ledgerly asks for four permissions and one network host. It has no content scripts, so it cannot read the pages you visit — not as a promise, as a capability it does not have.

Your records live in a Postgres database where row-level security is enforced on every table, on every operation. The key shipped inside the extension is a publishable one and grants no access on its own.

Read the privacy policy
  • No browsing history. No content scripts, no tab-reading permission.
  • No analytics or telemetry. No third-party SDK, no usage reporting.
  • No ads and no advertising identifiers.
  • No bank logins, ever. There is no field for a card or account number, and no bank connection.
  • Never sold or shared. Not for credit scoring, not for lending, not to anyone.
  • Export whenever you like. Everything, as CSV or JSON, without asking us.
  • Signing out wipes the local copy from your device.
Questions

Before you install

Does it connect to my bank?

No — deliberately. You type what you spent, and that is the whole input. Ledgerly has no field for card numbers or account credentials and never asks for a banking login, which means there is no credential for anyone to lose.

What happens to entries I make offline?

They save to your device immediately and appear in the UI straight away. A queue holds them in the order you made them and uploads them when you reconnect, retrying through a flaky connection. Because every record carries an ID generated on your device, a request that succeeds but loses its reply is recognised as the same entry rather than being written twice.

Can I use more than one currency?

Yes. Enter an amount in any currency and Ledgerly converts it to your base currency using that day's rate, then stores the converted figure permanently. Reports add up the stored values, so a rate change tomorrow cannot rewrite last March's total — and a budget you hit stays hit.

Does it work on more than one computer?

Yes. Sign in with the same account and your ledger follows you. Each device keeps its own local copy for speed and offline use, and changes sync both ways in the background.

Can I get my data out?

Any time, from Settings, as CSV or JSON — no request to us and no waiting. Every chart in the reports section also has a table view you can read and copy directly.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. There is no paid tier, no trial, and no feature held back.
